On December 18, 2007 there was the public defence of the doctoral dissertation entitled “The parametric system to evaluate stored munitions” by Dariusz Ampuła, M.Sc. Eng. The R&D Council of AFIT appointed the Examination Board. The supervisor of the above-mentioned dissertation was Prof. Jan Figurski, PhD Eng., from the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Zielonka.

Prof. Józef Żurek from AFIT and Prof. Piotr Sienkiewicz from the National Defence University gave favorable reviews of the dissertation.

At the final part of the defence, the doctor of philosophy degree in the field of machine building and operation, particularly in technical diagnostics was conferred on Dariusz Ampuła.

On July 14, 2006 there was the doctoral defence of Grzegorz Czerwiński, M.Sc. Eng, who is an employee of the Telecommunications Research Institute. The title of his doctoral dissertation is “Composite flaw detection with the use of an ultrasonic scanning method”.

The supervisor was Prof. Jerzy Lewitowicz from AFIT. Reviews were given by both Prof. Tadeusz Niedziela from the Warsaw University of Technology and by Prof. Paweł Lindstedt from AFIT.

The Examination Board appointed by AFIT agreed to confer the doctor of philosophy degree in the field of machine building and operation, particularly in machine diagnostic on Grzegorz Czerwiński.
