The 16th International Defence Industry Exhibition was held at Kielce Trade Fairs on 8th-11th September, 2008. The unquestionable attraction of the Fair
was the opportunity to exhibit the modern armaments and military equipment of Polish Armed Forces, including the military camp demonstrating the real life
support for our troops participating in the EU led operation in Chad. Also, the Swedish defence industry potential was presented at MSPO.
The Exhibition attracted about 400 companies from 22 countries (including the USA, Great Britain, Israel, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, France, Switzerland)
and it was visited by approximately 13 thousand people. MSPO in Kielce is one of Europe's largest and most important events dedicated to the defence
industry.
The Air Force Institute of Technology presented the following achievements:
- Mobile Laboratory for Air Events Investigation and Flight Data Analysis (developed in cooperation with the Flight Safety Inspectorate, MoD)
- Technology Demonstrator for the TS-11F Iskra upgrade (focusing on training for combat aircraft pilots on digital avionics)
- Aerial Target Simulator Launcher
- Practice Bomb LBĆw-10
- Chaff Dispenser - ASO
- Night Vision Goggles (developed together with Industrial Optics Centre PCO)
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
- Air Weapon Command System Integrator
The Air Force Institute of Technology (together with the Flight Safety Inspectorate, MoD) have been granted the DEFENDER prize for the Mobile Laboratory
for Air Events Investigation and Flight Data Analysis, which was developed at AFIT and implemented by the Armed Forces.
The Institute's stand was visited by: Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Gen. Franciszek Gągor, First Deputy Chief Lt. Gen. Mieczysław
Stachowiak, Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Andrzej Błasik, Commander of the Land Forces Lt. Gen. Waldemar Skrzypczak and representatives of Air Force,
Land Forces, Ministry of National Defence, Inspectorate for Armed Forces Support.
Among foreign visitors having interest in AFIT exhibition there were delegations of Armed Forces of: Algeria, India, Finland, and representatives of
such companies as HARRIS, DGT (France), CAE-Elektronik, FLIR, Sikorsky, Alloys International (USA).
The Institute was represented by: Director General Ryszard Szczepanik, Deputy Director Andrzej Żyluk, Business & Development Department, and
representatives of Research & Development Divisions.
