Polish Armed Forces Day at ITWL

The Air Force Institute of Technology celebrated the Polish Armed Forces Day, established on the anniversary of the "Vistula Miracle". It was 99 years ago in the outskirts of Warsaw that the decisive battle of the Polish-Bolshevik war took place, considered to be the 18th groundbreaking battle in world history.

The victory determined Poland's independence and saved Europe from Bolshevism.
The celebrations took place on the Institute's assembly square, where the General Director - PhD.D.Sc. Mirosław Kowalski, prof. ITWL officially welcomed employees and invited guests reminding the story of this anniversary, which is special for Poland.
In the further part of the celebration, Director Mirosław Kowalski handed congratulatory letters from the Minister of National Defense - Mariusz Blaszczak to officers working at the Institute.
Director Kowalski together with the Chairman of ITWL Scientific Council - professor Wojciech Wawrzyński - Vice-Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology handed to soldiers and employees silver and bronze medals "Armed Forces in the Service of the Fatherland" granted by Minister of National Defense for long-term, exemplary service or work in the Polish Armed Forces.
In the next part of the ceremony, the Director of the Institute and the Chairman of the Scientific Council handed doctoral and habilitation diplomas awarded from October 10, 2018 by the Institute's Scientific Council. Habilitated doctor degrees were given to:
Ph.D. Eng. Włodzimierz Balicki from the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Aviation;
Ph.D. Eng. Andrzej Gębura from ITWL;
Ph.D. Eng. Andrzej Komorek from LAW;
Ph.D. Eng. Paweł Gołda from ITWL;


doctoral degrees received:
MSc. Piotr Woźny from WZL No. 2;
MSc. Tomasz Merda from WITU;
MSc. Grzegorz Jastrzębski from ITWL;
MSc. Jacek Żak from 15.RPW;
In addition, mgr inż. Grzegorz Jastrzębski received the award for a doctoral dissertation entitled "Method for assessing the flow properties of the launch tube control and propulsion system".
After the official part of the ceremony, guests and employees of the Institute participated in outdoor party organized at ITWL.
