Director of ITWL - Mirosław Kowalski, prof. ITWL and Rector - Commandant WAT Col. Professor Przemysław Wachulak, Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. signed a cooperation agreement between the Air Force Institute of Technology (ITWL) and the Military University of Technology (WAT). The ceremonial signing of the document took place on July 1, 2021. At the Institute's headquarters.

The contract appoints new areas implemented so far, extensive cooperation between the University and the Institute. The agreement provides for joint research, the mutual exchange of experiences, organization of student practices as well as training, courses and scientific conferences.

"Military University of Technology cooperates with many entities contributing to the increase of the scientific, technical and military capacity of our country. ITWL's activities are well found in this trend. Today, the agreement opens new areas of joint research. We will cooperate in the production of utility and built-in software, application methods of artificial intelligence, design of systems and components of aircraft and ground vehicles, as well as developed in the Faculty of Cybernetics WAT simulation tools, cryptographic solutions and cyber security solutions. However, this is not the beginning of our relationship, because we have already implemented a lot of research in previous years and we are currently working. An example is a MilGeoMed project, under which we create an integrated system for location and medical assistance for victims on the battlefield. I wish our institutions all good and successful and fruitful cooperation, "said the Rector-Commandant.

As part of cooperation, WAT and ITWL committed to the mutual initiation and conducting scientific research and promoting and commercialization of research results. In addition, the contract provides for interconnection of technical and technological consultations and cooperation in scientific and research consulting, students' education and doctoral students, organizing training, courses, scientific conferences, internships and practices and mutual exchange of knowledge and experiences. It is worth noting here that WAT students already use the possibility of practices in ITWL. These are mainly students of the Faculty of Mechatronics, Armaments and Aviation.

Cooperation between WAT and ITWL will run, among others In the area of Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, as well as in the production of constructive and virtual simulators and cryptographic solutions. This theme is close to the dynamically developing Faculty of Cybernetics WAT, which during the meeting was represented by Dean - Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. Zbigniew Tarapata. It is worth noting that some employees of the Institute participate in doctoral studies on this Faculty.

"This is an important department on your university, it enjoys a high reputation. We are very pleased with cooperation with WAT. Mainly because our institutions have close tasks. I hope our cooperation will expand for more new areas", said Director of ITWL Mirosław Kowalski.
