On 27 May 2026, the Drone Summit 2026 took place at the ATTA Centre Congress Center in Riga, Latvia.
It was one of the most significant exhibitions dedicated to unmanned technologies in Central and Eastern Europe. The event featured presentations of state-of-the-art unmanned systems and brought together leading companies and institutions from 20 countries. The summit served as a platform for exchanging experience and expertise in the field of unmanned systems and discussing the future development of advanced technologies supporting security and defense.
The Air Force Institute of Technology (ITWL) participated in the event as part of the dedicated Polish national pavilion. The Institute showcased its latest developments in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
ITWL was represented by:
- Ph.D. Eng. Paweł Szczepaniak – Head of the Composite Aircraft Structures Department,
- Capt. Dr. Eng. Paweł Kalinowski – Head of the Observation and Reconnaissance Systems Laboratory,
- M.Sc. Eng. Robert Czaplicki – Head of the Promotion Department.
ITWL’s participation in Drone Summit 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to present the Institute’s capabilities, establish new international contacts, and exchange experience with representatives of the unmanned aerial systems sector and defense technology industry.
