From 12 to 15 June 2026, the 4th "Science for Society" Congress was held at the University of Warsaw.
The theme of this year's Congress, "Science for Society – Society for Science," emphasized the mutual responsibility and cooperation that form the foundation of the modern world. In addition to lectures and panel discussions showcasing the achievements of Polish science, its practical applications, and innovations, this year's edition also featured an open-air exhibition on the University of Warsaw campus, presenting the accomplishments of research institutes, scientific organizations and universities to the public.
The Air Force Institute of Technology (ITWL) was among this year's exhibitors. At the ITWL stand, visitors had the opportunity to see a prototype of the DROZD unmanned surface-air platform, designed to support Special Forces in maritime operations. The platform was developed jointly by the Air Force Institute of Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology and the Military University of Technology.
At the conclusion of the Congress, the ITWL exhibition stand was visited by Ph.D. Karolina Zioło-Pużuk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw; and Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, Chairman of the Main Council of Research Institutes and Director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing. They presented the "Perspectives of Science" (Perspektywy Nauki) award statuette to Eng. Robert Czaplicki, M.Sc., Head of the ITWL Promotion Department.
